AAAP (American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry):  Information, support and training (Buprenorphine) for those with addiction, substance use and mental disorders.

AACAP (American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry):  Information and resources in the understanding and treatment of the developmental, behavioral and mental disorders that affect children and adolescents.

APA (American Psychiatric Association): The main professional organization of psychiatrists and trainee psychiatrists in the United States, and the most influential worldwide.

CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder):  A non-profit organization serving individuals with AD/HD and their families. CHADD offers support for individuals, parents, teachers, professionals, and others.

IPN (Intervention Project for Nurses):  The mission of IPN is to ensure public health and safety by providing an avenue for swift intervention/close monitoring and advocacy of nurses whose practice may be impaired due to the use, misuse, or abuse of alcohol or drugs, or a mental and/or physical condition.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness): A non-profit grassroots, self-help and advocacy organization of consumers, friends and families.

National Institute on Drug Abuse:  Provides information regarding the complexity of the illness and effective treatments approaches available.  Clarification of use of medication, behavioral treatment, and education are included.

NIMH (National Institute of Mental Health):  Transforming the understanding and treatment of mental illness through research.

PRN (Professionals Resource Network/Impaired Practitioners Program of Florida):  One of two programs in Florida designated to matters relating to practitioner impairment; consults and works closely with the DOH, DBPR in regard to impairment related mitigation factors during disciplinary proceedings; a non-profit organization funded through a contract with DOH to implement the statutorily mandated Impaired Practitioners Program.

Roxanne Permesly, LMHC: Roxanne is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Family Mediator.
